Join us for an evening to support Smoky Mountain Service Dogs in their efforts to improve the quality of life for wounded Veterans.

Radio Systems Corporation® has dedicated this year to continue to serve our animal-friendly community by sponsoring a service dog for a Veteran in need through Smoky Mountain Service Dogs. Our goal is to reach or exceed the sponsorship of one service dog, from acquiring the canine to training with the Veteran, costing more than of $20,000.

Cocktail reception with dinner to follow.

Attire is dressy casual.

Canine Companions are welcome.

Smoky Mountain Service Dogs serves to enhance the physical and psychological quality of life for wounded Veterans by providing custom trained mobility assistance service dogs (at no cost to the Veteran).

They believe that through appropriate utilization of a public access tested/approved, highly trained service dog, individuals with physical and/or psychological disabilities can often become increasingly self-sufficient and independent. A large percentage of disabled individuals can experience a higher level of societal and community involvement and acceptance through effective use of a service dog. It takes community involvement to insure the success of Smoky Mountain Service Dogs and their clients. The contributions of individuals and groups within the community will be welcome, appreciated, and honored. They believe that positive reinforcement is the best form of service dog training and they shall remain committed to training their service dogs in a way that encourages trust on all levels.

Meet Hooligan

Our Canine Ambassador Hooligan is a 4.5-year-old black Labrador Retriever.  He enjoys demonstrating some of the 50+ mobility skills that all of our service dogs know upon graduation.  He was named “Hooligan” in honor of Spec. John Hargreaves by John’s parents.  While serving in Afghanistan, John was a member of the platoon known as the Hooligans and when he lost his life, they sponsored a dog in John’s memory.
